Jones Old School Bbq Information

Tucked along 815 E Prima Vista Blvd in Port St. Lucie, Jones Old School Bbq feels like the kind of place you stumble upon once and then keep coming back to whenever you’re craving something smoky and satisfying. The location isn’t flashy, but that’s part of the charm-it leans into that classic roadside barbecue joint vibe where the focus is squarely on the food.

Walking in, the atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with the kind of laid-back energy you expect from a spot that takes its barbecue seriously but doesn’t try too hard to impress. The smell hits first-slow-cooked meats, a hint of char, and that unmistakable blend of spices that signals you’re in the right place. It’s the kind of aroma that already tells you what to order before you even look at the menu.

Speaking of the menu, it’s refreshingly straightforward. You’ll find all the staples: ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and smoked chicken, alongside classic sides like baked beans, coleslaw, and mac and cheese. The ribs stand out immediately-tender enough to pull apart without falling off the bone completely, with a smoky flavor that doesn’t get lost under sauce. The pulled pork sandwich is another highlight, piled high and juicy, with just enough tang to keep each bite interesting.

What really makes the experience feel authentic is the balance. The sauces are there if you want them, but the meat holds its own without needing to be drenched. That’s usually a good sign, and it lines up with what barbecue enthusiasts often look for according to organizations like the Kansas City Barbeque Society, where proper smoking technique is just as important as seasoning.

Service tends to match the overall vibe-friendly, unpretentious, and quick to offer recommendations if you’re unsure what to try first. It doesn’t feel overly polished, but it doesn’t need to be. The staff seems genuinely familiar with the menu, and that shows when they steer you toward customer favorites or help you mix and match plates.

Reviews from locals often mention consistency, which is something not every barbecue spot manages to maintain. While it may not have the polish of a high-end restaurant, Jones Old School Bbq delivers where it counts, especially if you’re looking for hearty portions and bold, traditional flavors.

What People's Say About Place

Visited on a random weekday around lunch time and found staff hard at work and ready to take orders. It’s a little hard to hear due to noise and being in a gas station is a little iffy but what you come for is the food! Pricing and portions were fair and the food was tasty, we ordered a pulled pork and fries and brisket -everything was flavorful and delicious. The seating area is very casual and not as clean but again that’s to be expected. Parking was easy by the shopping center and this seems to be a favorite among nearby workers. I didn’t find a trash can easily but I’m sure it was available. I recommend ordering in person as I noticed a price different to when I attempted ordering online. Overall, I recommend.

Best BBQ I have ever had. The Smoked chicken FELL off the bone like it was nothing. Just extremely tender. The use of wood for smoking not only makes the lot smell amazing, but really comes through in the meat. Ribs were extremely tender and slid completely off the bone as well. The BBQ sauce was DELICIOUS. Overall, I was extremely impressed! We definitely want to come back.

The very Best! Bought pounds of pulled pork, brisket, baby baked ribs and sides potato salad, mac cheese, baked beans and corn bread for the super bowl. Heated it all up for the game the next day per Mr.Jones heating instructions and it was unbelievably tender, tasty and filling. Lived off of this bbq for days. Great Job Jones Old School BBQ. We will be back often.

Jones is the real deal. I love bbq, smoke at home myself. Was in the area visiting my parents for the holidays and wanted some good southern bbq being from up north myself. Made a list of a few places to try, ended up going to Jones twice. Ive been to 100s of bbq places all over the country being a truck driver. Jones is in my top 3. Honestly tied at number one ribs wise with this random food truck in Memphis TN. Ribs are 10/10. Brisket is a 9/10, plenty flavorful, just a few dry bits only reason for the 1 star off. Mac and cheese is pretty damn good too. Just wish it was a bit more cheesy. Potatoe salad was great. Ill be going back everytime i visit my parents again, probably twice again too. Told the owner my second time there how good it was and he was nothing but smiles. Guy enjoys his work. Definitely try this place out.

First time today, had the pulled pork for lunch and then took home a rack of ribs. AMAZING!! The sauce, the sides, and the meat are all perfect. Will be a regular. And I am fussy about ribs. And the people are all great.

My folks and I had the Brisket Dinner, Rib Dinner and Rib Basket with Green Beans, Collard Greens, Fried Okra and Fries. Not saying this lightly: the Brisket is legitimately the BEST Brisket I've ever had. The Ribs were excellent. The sides were very good as well... Really enjoyed the greens, beans and especially the fried okra... Highly recommend this Treasure Coast Old School BBQ!

This is hands down the best barbecue I've ever had. Normally I'm a burnt ends guy because some people just do not know how to properly get flavor into their brisket and burnt ends is the only way. Not so with these guys, the brisket was heavily smoked full of flavor and did not need to be eaten with the barbecue sauce like so many other places. Can be eaten on its own and plenty delicious. But when you throw on some sauce? It's just over, nowhere else you need to be going. The oxtail was also fantastic. I've only had oxtail a couple times in my life. The only other times was Jamaican style, never even considered that it could be a smoked barbecue item and man is it good! To top it all off delicious, dirty rice, and the fried okra was crunchy and had some good flavor to it as well. Get some today, you won't regret it.

Words and pictures don't do Mr. Jone's food justice! We always order the Rib Dinner and Brisket Dinner and we have never been disappointed. The brisket is always tender and the ribs are in a league of their own--tender, falling off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth. Each dish comes with two sides, but the Corn Nuggets and Onion Rings have got to be our favorite! This is absolutely hands down the best barbecue in Port St. Lucie (even St. Lucie County!)! Jones Old School BBQ is a must-try for the ultimate soul, comfort, and deliciously smokey meal the whole family will love.
